The website builder is designed for a volunteer board, not a web developer. You answer a few questions about your community, HOA-OS writes the pages and picks matching photos, and you keep as much or as little control as you want after that. Here is each part of the tool, in the order you would use it.
Generate your site with AI
From the Website page, click Start Setup Wizard. First, choose the option that best describes your community: a single-family subdivision, a condo or townhome community, a fifty-five plus community, mixed use, or other. Your web address is already filled in from your settings.
On the next step, choose which pages to create. The standard set is Home, About Our Community, Board of Directors, Rules and Guidelines, Amenities, Documents, and Contact. Uncheck any you do not need, or add a custom page of your own, such as Pool Rules.
Next, set the tone. Community gives you a warm, resident-facing voice. Sales and Marketing is aimed at attracting new buyers. Professional gives a more formal feel. Add your contact details, including email, phone, address, and office hours, which appear on your Contact page, and describe anything special about your neighborhood. You can also point the AI at existing documents to reference.
Then click Generate My Site. In under a minute, HOA-OS writes every page and selects photos to match. When it finishes, review each page: switch between Preview and Edit, type a note and click Refine to adjust the content, then Approve. Once your pages look right, continue to launch, choose which ones to publish, and click Launch My Site.
Manage your pages
Back on the Website page, all your pages are listed in a table showing each page's title, web address, status, and when it was last updated. Drag a page by the handle on the left to reorder it. This also sets the order of the menu on your live site.
Open the actions menu on any row to edit the page, preview it on your live site, publish or unpublish it, or delete it. Unpublished pages stay hidden as drafts until you are ready to show them, so you can prepare a page before residents ever see it.
Edit a page
Click a page to open the visual editor. Every page is built from blocks, shown in the palette on the left. A Hero gives you a full-width banner with a headline and background image. A Text block holds rich, formatted content, including headings, bold, lists, and links. You can add an Image with a caption, or a Gallery of several photos. A Call to Action gives you a heading, description, and button. A Contact block shows your HOA's details. A Divider separates sections, and an Announcements block automatically pulls in your latest newsletters.
Click the pencil on any block to edit it. For images, you can search stock photos or upload your own. Use the arrows to move a block up or down, and the trash icon to remove one. When you are done, make sure the page is published, preview it, and click Save. Changes are not saved automatically, so the Save step matters.
Add a page by hand
You do not have to rely on the wizard for every page. Click New Page, give it a title, and a web address is generated for you, which you can customize. Your new page starts blank, so add blocks from the palette to build it however you like: a Hero banner, text, images, and more.
Your page saves as a draft. When you are ready for residents to see it, turn on Published and save, and it joins your site's navigation automatically.
What residents see
Here is what the finished community website looks like, live for residents. The navigation shows every published page, plus built-in links to your Newsletters, Calendar, Documents, and Forms. Each page carries the content and photos from the builder. This is exactly what a resident sees when they visit your site.
Start over if you need to
If you ever want a clean slate, scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom of the Website page and click Delete entire site. You confirm twice, including typing DELETE, so it never happens by accident. This removes every page and returns you to the setup wizard, ready to generate a brand-new site.
